Thanked: 0Thanks for all the great advice! So I guess my next question is, what should I get to start with? I don't want to invest a ton of money but I want good quality. I already have a mug, soap, and a brush but I need a strop and a beginner razor. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

check out our BUY?SELL?TRADE section, if you pick up a lesser priced razor or 2 from there I will more than likely be ready to shave with. too bad your on the east side of the state or I would help you out ,, but keep your eyes on the section, cause sometimes there are some really good deals,, and mostly go for a basic razor that is shave ready. the guys on this site shave with tem so they know. Thanked: 41You are blessed to get TWO heirloom razors. That's really cool. There's something magical when you shave with an heirloom piece.
If you're on a bugdet, I'd keep one in a showcase and shave with the other one. Worst case, you'll damage one but you'll have the other one as backup. (and you probably can get it fixed to return to the showcase).
Of course, nobody wants that to happen
