    Default New guy in Chesapeake, VA

    I've been poking around in the site, learning a lot and picking up a couple razors, but I don't think I've introduced myself. If I have, sorry - chalk it up to old age, too much sweet tea, or something...

    I retired to Chesapeake, VA after 39 years in the Coast Guard. Not really sure why I decided to learn to use a straight razor a few weeks ago, but it's a work in progress - as am I.

    Like old stuff - pipes, fly fishing, reading, fountain pens. Hate ties.

    Appreciate everyone's willingness to share info when us new guys ask beginner questions......Pepe

    Welcome to SRP, Pepe! You've found the best place for help learning how to shave with straight razors. Ask all the questions you want, and you will get plenty of handy information.

    PS....My nephew is in the Coast Guard and already a Lt. Commander. Smart kid that one.

    Welcome aboard, Pepe - we've spoken via PM when you first joined. There is a stunning amount of information here, and a *lot* of very knowledgeable people who are more than willing to lend a hand. We're getting a small cadre in the Hampton Roads area, Besides you and I, there is at least another fellow in Chesapeake (Western Branch area), and I believe that Marshal told me he is in Virginia Beach. We might want to think about putting together a meet & greet one of these days!

    It would be great to great together. Seems everyone has different skills, great way to share them.!

    Where is your nephew, and what does he do? Do you have him using a straight razor? Lol
