Default Hello from a newb in Knoxville

    Hello All!

I'm a 22 year old Worship leadership/entertainment tech major about to start my last year (can't wait to be done haha). General interests are tinkering with just about anything, mountain biking, gaming (both pc and tabletop), and ham radio. Finally decided to test the waters with a shavette, because dry shaving is just kinda annoying haha... Looking forward to delving into a new hobby (like my wallet can afford another one...) and this wonderful community!

    Cheers!

Welcome to SRP! Hopefully, you get employed soon, fill your wallet up, and then dive down the rabbit hole like most of us here. Here's to you getting your first straight razor sooner rather than later.

Amen to that! Granted this "magic" shavette is so much nicer than using a wahl peanut, I can only imagine what a true straight feels like... Right now I'm just happy I don't razor burn the daylights out of my neck anymore

Whenever and if ever you decide to go into straight razor shaving I have two suggestions.
First razor I would buy from the buy sell trade forum or from dovo/ralf aust/boker.
Second for a strop I would get a SRD 3" strop. It's 80$ but it is a great strop, and when/if you mess up the strop you can buy 40$ replacement leather and still have really nice strop.

I have been stalking around the b/s/t and have found some cool stuff!!! And replacement parts are good, no matter how careful you try and be, stuff happens... Especially having a black lab/great dane mix...
