    Default G'day from Brisbane

G'day from down under! (Actually born in the UK and bought up in New Zild, so this ozzy slang thing is fake!) I have not started with straight razors yet- Purchased one a few days ago and wishing that I had found this site first- Ah well, she'll be right! Recently fell into DE shaving and have come down with SAD, RAD and perhaps even BAD - Feel like there wasn't quite enough Zen in it and so want to start with a straight razor to prolong the morning rituals- even if just once a week. Cheers, Tom

Hi Thomas, welcome aboard. The straight is a great experience: it's a hard mistress to start off with but it's worth it in the long run.

Anything you want to know, ask here.

Welcome. What razor did you buy? It may not be shave ready and may need professional honeing. If so there must be someone who does that near you. Take your time. Check the library and ask questions. Good luck.

Welcome to SRP, Thomas! Glad you are finally discovering the proper way to shave. We have a few members from Australia, so maybe you can find an opportunity to get together one one one and flatten the learning curve. Have fun and be sure to ask any questions you may have!

Hello Bouschie- Thanks for the welcome. I bought a Gotta a big Bengal and a little Bengal ... I am sure they are not shave ready- before coming here I imagined that I would buy some stones and hone them myself... now that I have done a little research am thinking I will get them professionally seen to!
