Thanked: 0Newbie from Florida
Just started getting into everything and the wealth of knowledge is appreciated from this site. I have been getting shaves from my barber for quite awhile and am finally ready to try it myself. I'm open to any recommendations on techniques or products.

Welcome, check out the library under shaving with a straight.
Doing it yourself is a lot different than the barber, but you know how it should/ shouldn't feel.Mike

Welcome to the forum! I also recommend B/S/T for your first razor and SRD for a strop, etc. Let us know if you have any questions along the way.

Hello and welcome to SRP.
Watch videos, especially Lynn's, practice strokes that you think might work for you with a butter knife, go slow and easy and stay in your comfort zone.
Enjoy learning and have fun.
