Hi from the UK
Hi!
I'm based in the UK and I've been wet shaving for about a year. Today marks my first foray into straight razor territory, as my 'sight unseen' razor has just turned up..so while I try and sort out restoration/honing, I'm here to do some reading and get a bit more involved..so hi

Welcome to SRP. Reading and following various posts here will educate you more than you think. My only concern is your thinking of honing before you master the fundamentals of straight razor shaving. Should your razor need honing attention you should contac CelticCrusader. He is in Wales and only a postal distance away. He can easily answer any concerns you may have. Do you have a strop as yet. That is a good question to ask CC. What kind, what size, what level of expense for a beginner are considerations to think about.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
Good thoughts - I am in the process of getting a list together. Paddle strop, plus balsa and oxide paste - as well as a decent hone to kick off with. Will take all of your good advice, thank you!
