Thanked: 0New member
Hi from Northland, New Zealand on this beautiful first day of spring. I got the open shave bug recently and have accumulated several old rusty razors already. Seems I'm smitten by their collectibility.

Welcome, careful collecting can turn into a bad habit or good depending on how you look at it ask questions and check into the library, tons of great info there.
I suggest you have a razor honed by a pro so you can truly know what shave ready is. The workshop is full of info for restore work. As is the library. Maybe you can save those vintage blades you have purchased.Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

Thanked: 634Welcome. Like said buying can be an addiction. Clean up what you have or have someone who has experience do it. Have them professionally honed and enjoy.

Thanked: 3795I was confused when you mentioned the first day of spring till I saw that you are upside down there in New Zealand. Welcome to the forum. Aside from doing a lot of reading as mentioned above, we would appreciate it if you hone your photography skills and show us some "before" pictures of your razors.

Welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have started a collection, will you be shaving too? If so I suggest getting them professionally honed as other have said.
Also as Utopian has said, we do like photos here so get snapping.
Good luck and enjoy.Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway

Thanked: 4828Funny that you are from New Zealand, I was just checking air ticket prices to New Zealand. There are a few members there, and the weather is much nicer there during our winter. Welcome to the forum, I do hope you decide to shave an not just collect. Both are a lot of fun. There are members in New Zealand that have a lot of experience.
