    Default Hi from Sundsvall, Sweden

Soo I have been browsing this forum for about 2 weeks and made a few posts. Im pretty new to wetshaving, got my first safetyrazor almost 2 years ago but never grew found of it. It was way to aggressiv for a beginner. Soo about 3 months ago I found a new safety razor to a great price on an auction site. It was a Edwin Jagger DE89 knurled. And this was a whole new page comming to wetshaving. Pretty soon I startet searching for more vintage razor, and atm I have about 10 diffrent types of safety razors. But its just a few I really use.

Joining a FB page for wetshavers in sweden made me take the step towards straight razors, and I knew my dad had gotten a few from my mothers granddad. They had been in a plastic bag since 1975. Soo I sent four of them to a proffesional honer. Couldt wait the time to get em back soo bought a shave ready Japanese straight razor. The first straight razor shave was about 1 month ago. August 15 if im not misstaken. Since then I have shaved like 10 times with the straight razors that I have thats shave ready.

    Atm im shaving with

1 Bengall with turtle imitation scales
    1 Bengall with wood scales
1 Eskilstuna Engström frameback, Ivory scales
1 Eskilstuna Söderen&Co frameback, plastic scales
1 Cape1000 Japanese with plastic scales.
1 Thiers Issard Spartacus (the only not vintage razor in my collection)

The favourite is the Engström frameback. Im not sure why but I can really get that good angel. And Im acctually concidering getting one more!

It dosnt stop here. I have a ton of other straight razors to. Some that I should just send out for honing, and some thats little bigger restauration. The restauration part is something I will try to do more. And something that Im gonna ask about and probalby also post the results when done.
Atm I live in a pretty small apartment, soo I need small equipment that can easely be put away.
If there is anything I will ask its probalby about restauration.

Thanks for reading and thanks for all the feedback and information I have gotten from here so far.

    /Svisson

    Welcome to SRP!!!

As you've seen there's a lot of great folks and info here. Check out the library and the workshop threads for help on the restorations.
You seem to be going well, keep at it, it takes a while to get it. But it is worth the time.

Most importantly, have fun and enjoy!!
