Default New user, but have a bit of experience

I've been straight shaving off and on for the past ~14 years. After about a 5 year hiatus I decided to give it a try again. I have combination skin, the only time I would even pickup a razor was when I was getting microderm abbrasion. All my strops were cracked and deteriorating and my Filarmonica 3rd Gen is losing it's edge and I don't feel like getting it re-honed. All this stuff is getting tossed.

I previously lurked and thanks for emptying my wallet

    So far I have received:
SRD Latigo Strop (Need it for Practice, even though the Tony Miller is around the same price I'd rather destroy this)
Different Creams and Soaps to try, (About 5 from a thread listing the first tier creams and soaps) I previously used TOBS
California Beard Company Aftershave, (Awesome stuff, Witch Hazel, Menthol, and a touch of Alcohol)

    Waiting on:
    2x Tony Miller Strops
    Nate Zowada Razor
    Brian Brown 5/8
    Muhle Synthetic Fiber Brush

Currently back and forth with Westholme Strops

Well, that's exactly what shaving with a straight does.
    Exfoliate..!!
Makes your skin heal faster, over time. And cause it to produce more collagen.

Sounds like you jumped in with both feet. And nice choices on hardware and software. You will be shaving like a big dog soon.
Now for that Fili. Dont toss it unless your going to toss it this way. Love my Fili.
Good luck on your trip back into the straight razor way of shaving.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Welcome back to straight razor shaving and SRP.
Hopefully you'll hang a round this time.
Enjoy your time here and good luck.

Welcome to SRP!!! And to SR shaving.
There's a lot of great folks and info here, check out the library

Yeah this place can make you spend silly amounts of cash. Nut every penny is worth it

As to Obie's thread on soaps, anything in that first tier will give you what you need in a soap or cream for a great shave

    Enjoy and have fun!!!!
