Thanked: 0Porl,
I have looked into Whipped Dog. I kind of like the idea of the sites "Sight Unseen" razor option to save a little money while still learning, I would hate to buy a more expensive higher quality razor like a Dubl Duck or a Thiers Issard (of which I have had my eye on and have sold recently on B/S/T) and something unfortunately happen. Whipped Dog's "Sight Unseen Flawed" option also looks attractive to me as I eventually get into honing and/or repairing razors."Putting razor-sharp steel next to your throat every morning reminds you that you’re alive." - Brett McKay

If you go Whipped Dog, consider his poor mans strop, which comes with a balsa/chromium oxide blade refresher strop.

Thanked: 3Hello and welcome!
I also made the transition from DE to straight, actually still in the transition stage- haven't perfected my technique yet. Use the straight 3- 4 times a week then clean up with the DE in the tricky areas. I read somewhere around these forums that after your 100th straight razor shave you'll be able to do it just right.
Lynn is a dependable guy, I have actually learnt a lots of things watching his vdos.
Take it easy and enjoy the ride!
