I'm Tim. I've been interested in SRs for a bit now and just took the plunge. I perused EBoy a couple days, looked at a few reference sites and couldn't pass up an "Old Baker German....." Don't know why I was drawn to it but it turns out to be Boker 346! Can't wait for it to arrive.

If it's ebony, chances are you will need one of the pros here to hone it, can't learn to shave with a sub par edge, plus you need to know what a proper edge is. Read all you can about shaving and stropping, that's the most important thing to learn now .

Put your location in your profile so locals can offer their help. One on one will get you months ahead of the curve, and plus go slow it,ll take months to really get it, but worth it.
