Thanked: 0NewBee representing South Dakota
I've been straight shaving for a while now, and have never joined a forum in my life EVER.... That said, I'm pretty much a "NewBee" in both areas. I've enjoyed shaving with my SR until the point where it needed honing. I'm a "do it yourself" kinda guy and really just joined to get info on stones for honing. However, after perusing SRP I've discovered a whole new world of aficionado that I'm quite interested in....
My Dad shaved with an ol' Gillette safety razor; an ol' Berma Shave shave brush and an Old Spice shaving mug; and, my first peach fuzz?....you know it.... I shaved with his equipment. So, yeah, I got some memories to share too.
My Bio? I'm a 53 year old guy who likes old stuff.... I live in an old house (1909), I collect old radios, coffee percolators, and old cameras. I own an old Chevy pick-up (57') and I ride motorcycles whenever possible. I have three teenage daughters, so, passing my "shaving knowledge" on will need to go down to my grandsons.... if, I have any.
Like all things in my life I appreciate the mechanics of "guy stuff".... and, I can see that SR shaving is gonna sock its fangs deep into my hobby vein....
So, hello from the "black mine'n hills of Dakota", South Dakota that is....

It's been a while since I had coffe from a percolators. Mmmmmmmm
I'm a dad of daughters only too. It seems to make me cling to high-testosterone things. Guns, hunting, tobacco, steel blades.
Welcome
