Default From GA (south of ATL)

Been meaning to post since I joined a couple of days ago, just haven't gotten around to it.

Hello to all here. I've already learned quite a bit from looking around, and I'm sure I'll learn a good bit more as time goes on.

I just completed my first wet shave this evening. Did my cheeks with a straight razor and my neck with a DE. I got the straight on eBay before I found this site (now I know). It's an 11/16 Costa & Sons (Boston) that was sold as "shave ready" (honed to 16K and stropped). I don't have any experience with straight razors, but it seemed pretty shave ready when I used it. Cost me about $33.

Anyway, I've got some questions, but I'll ask those in the appropriate subforums.

    Thanks.

Welcome to SRP. Take you time and go slow. It can be fun to shave when you take your time and enjoy the process. Ask anything you want and read the library.

Welcome to the site. I'm N OTP myself.
If it was hones correctly to 16k it should shave well. Some only hone to about 8-12k. Some steel takes really fine edges better than others. You just have to be careful not to kill it with bad stropping technique.
