Thanked: 61Thank you all for this wonderful resource!
Hi folks, I've technically been a member for almost a year now and an unofficial lurker long before that. A renewed struggle to resist buying another razor got me thinking I should say a quick hello to everyone who has been so invaluable to me over the years.
I live in the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada and work as a counesllor. I got into wet shaving precisely because I hate shaving and so decided to fully embrace it so I could change it from a chore to something that let me recharge my mental energy. It's at the point where wet shaving in one form or another is actually something I recommend to my male clients who struggle with anxiety.
This last year I've been reading and watching whatever I can get my hands on in order to teach myself to hone, something that is fairly relaxing and cathartic in itself. Since it's just for me, I decided early on that I wanted to make use of natural stones whose use would present me with a puzzle, my thinking being that even if the learning curve was greater the sense of accomplishment would be likewise. So far no regrets! I've also recently tipped my toes into rescaling razors, again just for fun.
More than anything I just want to express my gratitude to the community here who has been so selflessly willing to share their knowledge and experience -- many thanks!Last edited by ppetresen; 12-30-2017 at 06:10 AM.

Thanked: 1Welcome!. As another very sick fan of all SR related stuff I wish you good luck with natural hones wich I think are made for spiritual users! I find that Naniwas are the best way to enjoy a sharp straight razor in no time because there are so many blades to test!.
