Welcome. You are on the right track and taking it easy one step at a time. If I were you I would contact LegalBeagle (Alexandria) and see if he can help if he knows anyone else near you with local help. If he is close enough to arrange a face to face. That can speed learning many times. If he can't help ask if he knows anyone else near you. Make sure he or whoever checks your razor's edge to make sure it is shave ready. If all else fails, ask many questions here and sift through the many answers. Many of us have mentored shavers via email many times. I even had a prematurely heavy beard on a 14-year-old student a few years back. He's now in college and still keeps in touch on occasion. Good luck on your shaving journey.

Hello and welcome on the forum.
Since I began 3 years ago, I make my lather in a bowl, the same kind I use form my morning cereals. I let it warm up in the sink with warm water during my shower time. Then I make my lather and let the bowl float in the sink.
