New guy introduction
Good morning! I've been a member here for a while apparently, but I haven't posted an introduction before. I've been using a Dovo Envogue 105 for several years, off and on. Early on, I sliced my chin pretty good and was shy for a while, using a combo of the straight razor and safety razor. I use a hanging strop. I haven't honed the razor myself, and will learn more about that in these forums. I'm in the Houston, Texas, area.

Welcome to the forum. Master the shave and stropping first. Honeing comes later. Buying a series of stones can be costly. If you only have one or two razors it is not economical. You may only need a 12k for refreshing the edge. I use Theirs Issard strop paste from The Art of Shaving on the canvas Strop. I Strop on canvas first and finish on leather. The paste helps maintain the edge and improves it some so long as your strop technique is good.
