Thanked: 5Hello From England
Hello everyone
Just joined yesterday, thought i would stop by to say hi,
I have been into this shaving lark about 6 years, and enjoy and look forward to my2-3 weekly shaves.I have a few straight razors ,but i favour the Shavette using a Dovo with the Red Sleeve and Personna Platinum DE Blades, and have just obtained a Focus Slim AL Shavette which i think is slightly up on the Dovo. I like to find old straights for a couple of quid and clean them up and rescale em with exotic wood as way of passing my time
It's a truly worthwhile experience shaving, especially with all the soap's cream's, Balm's an stuff to make us guys smell nice even though it can be a bit of a money pit, BUT I LOVE IT
I do post's but mainly tend to sit on the side and read post from all you knowledgeable folk.
Regards bigtony

Thanked: 556Welcome. We appreciate those who sit on the sidelines and read as well as those who contribute. Your experience with shavettes is something we can all learn from so feel free to add what you know to the pool of knowledge available at SRP.

Welcome aboard, The workshop is where you should go, lots of cool repairs, rescales, and restorations in there.
We have a few members here that like working with wood, for scales. Myself, being one of them.Mike

Hi Tony. Welcome to SRP.
A Shavette? Your band from the forum already! You know this is a straight razor forum, right?
Just kidding. We have a few folks that still use a shavette. Mainly for traveling. Be sure to post some pics of your work in the workshop thread. I too am one of the guys that love to make exotic wood scales. I put up a few pics yesterday of the 5 im working on right now. A work in progress i guess you would call it.
Enjoy your time here and join in when you want. Not everyone has to post every day. Just enjoy the forum and throw in your 2 cents now and then. It's just Sharpening, right?
