Thanked: 2Hello from South Mississippi
New to the forums and here to learn all the ins and outs. I am a young collector and own about 30 or so almost entirely old Vintage and Antique Straights. Have a deep passion for the big ,wide and heavy. Just something beautiful about them. Hope to make many new friends who share this wonderful grooming hobby.😊

Thanked: 1936Glad to have you. You found the right place! You need to do a few things: have one of those razors honed up properly, obtain a good strop, get some good shave soap and a brush. While you are waiting for all that to come in...read up here. Best thing would be for you to find a wet shaving veteran within driving distance and schedule a visit. You can learn more face to face 10x as fast as just reading alone.

Welcome to the group. Do you use a Straight or just collect? The real fun begins when you buy rough looking blades, restore them to original and shave with them. But we all started somewhere. Let us know if you plan to use these and want help learning. We love to help new guys to get into this old way of shaving. Its a lot more enjoyable shave.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Hello and welcome on the forum dear collector. We love old blades around here, so pictures will be appreciated. If you use them already, you can post them one by one in the shave of the day (of the week) section.
