Nice start. It cool to be able to use some wood from your area.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Man, I guess I didn't do that right. I'll try editing but in the meanwhile you can see the finished product and I guess you can click the attachments if you're interested to see the progression.

So I did some searching, and was directed here. With all the pics and information on restoring, in the workshop, I became highly infected with RAD, and other disorders related to it.

And yes, others have more extensive disorders, than I.

Probably a familiar story here. When I was a kid my dad had a J. A. Henckels 401that I was fascinated by. (Funny side story: when I was just old enough to shave on a Saturday night I decided to try out his SR. It all seemed to go okay. The next morning at church the youth director looked at me and asked, " did you get attacked by a cat?") Anyway, after my dad died I got his razor and barber stone. It is one of my most cherished possessions and I love to use it but it has some hone wear and I wanted to get a good one of my own to continue the legacy with. Meanwhile, my wife for some reason I can't remember went to an antique shop and saw several of them. She took me and the kids to look and I bought a Robeson Shuredge NOS with the sticker still on the scale. I think it may have been a display case item. I picked that one but they had several others I really liked. The wife also took me to another place and I bought two more there. Of course that was the beginning. I've been hopelessly infected by the bug. At last count I'm up to 25 but I still need more. It is a real thrill finding these old gems, cleaning them up and restoring them to their former glory. I love to research them and find out what there is to know about them(often very little).
I hope to learn some more here and help fill in what I can in the annals. I look forward to many years of interaction with everyone.
HI, great to have you, stick around. we don' bite, only the poorly honed razors do1

Welcome from Georgia! Nice story. I actually got my Dad a DE safety razor after hearing growing up the disposables weren't as good. Wish I could have found an old straight or safety razor used by a relative.
If you haven't posted them yet, pics please! Haven't read entire thread yet.

Probably hoping the razors cost less than their shoes/clothes!
