Welcome to the forum and enjoy your time here. You have company, I am not on any social media platforms either. You have already learned one of the biggest lessons in honing a straight razor and that is doing so is not like sharpening a knife or wood working tools. That can be really hard for some people to accept in the beginning so you are already ahead of the game there.

    Worth 1000 words, you know.
Good place to begin in that search box?
Another good tip, I'll read up on that today.

Welcome, there’s a “what are you working on” thread that’s about 1500 pages long, good place to post a picture, get feedback, get ideas, and lots of awesome info on the nuances of straights and restoration.
That sounds like a thread I'll be visiting a lot. Thanks for the info.

I can see your going to fit in real nicely to the group. So many join them disappear after a couple posts.

Thanks for the welcome, I've already found a lot of good information on where to find pieces and parts, and a couple of cool ideas for inexpensive tools that look to make the hobby more enjoyable.
