Thread: Edwin Jagged Straight Razor

Hi, I'm checking out an Edwin Jagged 11/16" Straight Razor that is etched with Sheffield England across the face. It's a pretty SR does anyone know if it's a good quality made SR? I've seen a lot of Jaggers DE razors, accessories, and soaps & creams but never seen or heard of his SR. Please advise. Thank you, JR James Rowe

I did see a Solingen E.J once.

Welcome to SRP. Just as you said, I've seen the DEs but not a straight. Id be interested in hearing about it too. They make a great starter DE. I hope the Straight is decent too and not a knock-off of the ZY or other China made razors.

I haven't seen an Edwin Jagger branded straight razor in a long time. I remember there being one that was marked Solingen and likely made by Dovo and another that was marked Le Grelot, made with new old stock Le Grelot blanks.

So to answer your question, it is likely a good quality razor. Why not share a picture ?

I bid on it on eBay. I've heard that it's a re-branded Dovo but not positive. Check it out it's a pretty SR.

Interesting... while EJ is I suppose "England" Not sure how they put that on a Dovo (germany) blade. Maybe like saying "assembled in USA"?

My guess would be that it is a rebranded dovo. The scales look identical to the dovo astrale pictured below.
