Good evening. I purchased my first antique razor. I hope to learn about it's history, how to restore it (without damaging value) and how to use it in my 18th Century living history hobby.

    Thank you!

Welcome. Look around. Make sure to read up on the beginners' section on just about any topic you could want to know about. The "what are you working on," thread in the workshop is chock full of information on restoration and repair. There is also a lot of info in the shave library and in the helpful links section top left on the home page. If you still need help there are plenty of friendly folks here to guide you. There is a lot to straight shaving and it's easy to get overwhelmed but just take your time and enjoy.

    Hello and welcome to SRP.

As said, post a picture or at least a description of your newly acquired razor.
We are all here to help.
You should also take the time to add your location with your avitar.
You may have someone very close that would be willing to meet with you and offer help and advice.

    Good luck!

You are certainly poised to do better with a straight than most did in the 18th century thanks to all the knowledge you have at your disposal here. Be sure to check out the Library. Update your profile settings to reflect your location in case you wish to attend meet-ups or seek some one on one mentoring.

    Welcome to SRP!
