Thanked: 2Greetings from Holland.
A warm Hello! from the Netherlands.
My name is Peter and I live holland more or less 40 kilometers south of Amsterdam. For two months now, I changed from cartridge razor to the DE razor. I am already addicted to the use of the brush and razor and the wonderful scent of the shaving cream,pre-shave oil en aftershave products. I am using TOBS.
In the near future a would like to use the straight razor, and I am now in the phase of taking in as much information as possible. Already I read a lot of stuff about the straight razor through the massive contributions of forum-members. To be honest I get more and more excited everyday, and constrain my self not to inmediately buy a straight razor right away.
Convinced that the forum will tremendously help me in the right direction, I nevertheless hope I can, in the future contribute by all kind of questions and who know, in time maybe, I contribute with some answers.
With Best Regards
Peter

Welcome Peter. You have the right attitude. It's best to approach it methodically. I just jumped in blind and suffered painfully for it. It takes time to learn but if you read up and watch some videos that will help a lot. We are always here to help guide you and answer questions. It's a fun journey and one that will last you a lifetime. Take your time and enjoy yourself.

Thanked: 4828Hi Peter. Welcome to the forum. There are a few members in you region. A good brush and a nice soap will help everyone get a much nicer shave, as you are now aware. We all learn at different speeds, some jump in and others take a more cautious approach. We are happy to help with what we can.

Welcome! I think you’re taking the perfect approach. A decent lather is key to any decent shave, so you are starting on the right foot. Safety razors will help train you to understand the value of a good lather.
By reading, asking questions and watching some videos, you’ll get a good understanding of using and maintaining a straight razor. By the time you buy your first razor and strop, you’ll be a step ahead!
Again,welcome!Just call me Harold
