managed to get some halfway decent pics, razors have been cleaned and oiled. They show evidence of previous honing and have no gaps or nicks visible with a loupe along the edges. while they take hair off the inside of my arm i dont think i would like to shave with just yet. they need a good honing and strop first.
as far as honing goes i will do it myself, i can get a knife sharp enough to comfortably shave my face so the razor having the inbuilt guide of the shoulder should be no more difficult than that with some proper stones and a good strop i believe. it will be just a case of sit down with a drink and some good light and take my time and go slow and go right.
the single worst thing i have ever had to sharpern has been a saddlers palm knife, they have a semicircular blade and are flat on one side so can only really be sharpened from on side.
all this will be in the near future, lots of reading and learning to do first.

Hi and welcome aboard. The Gotta seems to have a good bit of hone wear and needs the heel corrected for honing. The Flic seems in much better condition. Maybe practice on the Gotta and then do the Flic
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
