Thanked: 0Greetings from Virginia
I've been a member here since 2016, however I have not actively participated until now. Took delivery of my first two straight razors today as part of a trade. Giving it a first shot this evening. Wish me luck. Thanks for having me here.

I'd say welcome but you were here before I was. How about nice to hear from you? Good luck to you and let us know how it goes.

Luck!!
And dont give up... you may have a really crappy shave with those, but it takes times to get used to a staight. Took me a good three months before I started to get consistent shaves, so hang in there!Recovered Razor Addict

Thanked: 0Thanks for the warm welcome. Both razors received today were shave ready. I had initially planned to go with the CV Heljestrand Mk 31, however I decided at the last minute to make the first shave the Dubl Duck.
The shave, on the whole, went well. One cut on the second stroke due to too much pressure, otherwise completed a with and against the grain pass without incident. Finished across the grain and under the nose with my Carbon Shave Co. Damascus, just to be on the safe side.
I have been wet shaving for around 10 years. It is a pity it took me so long to come around to straight razors. Based on my limited research, this is far and away the biggest rabbit hole in which to jump, and I plan on diving in with full force.
