    Thanks! Yes I’ve experienced that with my first 2 restored knives. I’ve had some help en information on a Dutch forum. Which helped me a lot but there is also still a lot to learn!.

    My current razor hone setup:

    Looks like you are well set up to hone razors.

    We make a big deal about how different it is to hone a razor versus sharpening a knife. If you have restored those razors to comfortably shave ready, you are well on your way.

    I am a coticule devotee myself as are many here, but there are also many experienced JNat users whose post you might like to explore.

    Please share some of your restoration projects. As Paul said, we love pictures.

    I’ve just put a picture of my current project in my F. herder #3 toppic.
    Thanks for de reply, at the moment my honing is the most consistent on my coti but after a lot of trial and error the results on my Oozuku ar a bit better. Guess it’s just down to getting to learn the stone a bit better.

    Welcome! Looks like your on to a good start. Make sure you have a good look in the library https://shavelibrary.com/ it's a wealth of information that covers pretty much all you need in the world of straight razors.
