It could be wings. Although most Detroit fans wouldn't say "reds" they would say "wings."

Anyway, welcome to SRP. If you've been shaving with a shavette, a straight will be an easy transition and one you will maybe not go back from. I say maybe because my son still uses both but just for the neck now since he looks like he is trying to audition for ZZ Top these days.

First thing you will want to get once you acquire a straight is a good starter strop. DON'T go spend a bunch at first because you will inevitably knick the crap out of you first one. It happens. We all do it. Once you get to where you can not cut up the strop then look for a good one. Heirloom Strop Co. makes a good one and Tony is also a member here so that's a plus. Stropping is the single most important thing you will need to learn in your transition. Most of the rest of it will be easier than going from automatic to manual transmission.

Make sure and ask questions if you are wondering about something and have fun. Ya know...we do something amazing here. We take a daily pain in the neck (pun intended) and turn it into an adventure and a cool hobby.
