    Default Learning the difference between wedge and hollow grinds

    I am new to straight razor shaving having inherited two vintage razors, a Wostenholm Pipe razor with a wedge grind and a Peter J. Michels Spear No. 10, which I think is a hollow, maybe quarter or half hollow, grind. I have been shaving mostly with the Wostenholm and haven’t found the learning curve to be as steep as I thought it would be.

    I would appreciate any information about either of these razors.

    History of different manufacturers.
    Under construction there are diagrams of razor parts and grinds.

    Things such as the Henckels grind chart from long ago helped me see the differences.
    You should look at the end to see.

    Then, there are double-concaves and a myriad of bellied-grinds.
    It gets confusing as to describing a particular grind at times.

    Shaving and comparing is about the only way.
