Thanked: 0Hello from Europe!
Hi Everyone,
I'm from Hungary and I'm interested in straight razors, particularly their history. I'm glad there is a place dedicated to them.

Welcome.
Do you have any useable razors? What you posted was nothing special when it was a razor. If your wanting to learn to use a straight we are happy to help you learn. If i was to guess it was a low cost wedge grind razor. At least until it was broken. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 0Thanks. I think style, even in the way we shave, is not a bad thing. I like quality hats (fedoras), something that men in the past just knew almost naturally. So I'll be looking into this straight razor business and see if it is for me.

Thanked: 0Thanks Gasman,
I saw that quote at the bottom of your post, "It's just Sharpening, right?" And it made me think about that old razor I found. I just thought that razor is going to need a lot more than just sharpening to put it back into shape! Lol.
I've always liked feforas, and I wear them. The men had sense (regarding protecting their face from the sun), and a sense of style back then, to wear them. Perhaps straight razors is something similar in that they made sense. I don't use one now, but maybe I will. So, tell me gasman, why do you like using a straight razor? Tell me about its positives, and also any negatives, if there are any.
