Default Two decades dream come true.

    Hello y'all,

Ever since I was 17 I wanted to straight razor shave. I joined the Army at that time and over the next ten years I saw several guys going to barbershops and getting the straight edge treatment, naturally I followed suit. Once the towel came off and I got lathered in all this beautiful smelling and soothing oil the sound of the hair coming off my gave was intoxicating. Just like in the Infantry you're trusting that barber with your life, that he not slit your throat.

From then on I looked everywhere. I refused to buy a brand new razor, I wanted an antique, something older than me from the WW1or WW2 era. Just yesterday my dream came true. I bought a Dubl Duck Special No. 1 and an ERN Ator Reg D. I had recently been practicing with a Chinese Gold Dollar at the advice of a friend and I bought all the sharpening and honing stones, strops shave soap pre, post, and shower soap. Beard Conditioner and Balm, I am obsessed. I am an American currently in Thailand and about to fly to the Philippines so I had to express order everything as quickly as possible. I have nearly all of the Whitebeard's soaps and oils, brushes and safety razors. I even made a good friend who runs the Outure shop on Lazada. He met me in person Soni could but the Ator offline since I was out of time. I shaved with the Ator last night and it was like a dream, I couldn't believe how smooth it was. Definitely my favorite razor for now. I still have to try out the dubl duck. Now I'm on a hunt to complete the mysterious dubl duck set and the Ator/crown and sword line. Nice to meet you all, happy hunting!

    Welcome aboard.

That's how I started, collecting ducks. I used to pass the store on the way to school every day.

Be advised they made a lot of razors. I have probably 25 or more all different some going back to the days when Bresnick sold them under his name.

    There He is! Welcome, DH.
Talk about some different models, Ern made scads. I have several which are hard to see these days. Great steel.
    Enjoy the ride!

Ahhh, the Bresduck. Think I have one or two...or did.

As stated elsewhere just keep an eye on them. Don't just let them languish in a drawer because those scalea can turn on you and spread it to other razors like VD. If my observations are true it's mainly the clear scales like the Satinedge and Goldedge that are worst. Howevere, what some have done is soak them in acetone, lift the bolsters and inlay badges and reapply to clear acrylic. That is advanced resto technique though.

Keep in mind you can always re-scale them into something less toxic. IF it is not too far gone!
No extensive sanding/restoration is recommended on the thin ones. Won't work!

    Welcome duckhunter
The cornering the market on all the dubl ducks will be a cool hunt In my opinion the hardest to aquire will be the allusive reaper.
As rare as hens teeth and also pretty spendy as well.
This one is currently on the market at Bobs Razors for $950 bones.
And that was reduced as well.
Still too rich for my blood.
