Thanked: 2Another Tuttle
Many of you knew my brother Randy Tuttle (RandyDance) from this and other razor sites. My name is Ralph.
When Randy passed last month he wanted to make sure that his years of collecting did not go by the wayside and so we spent a lot of time going through his numerous hones and razors. Valiantly trying to educate me as to some of the nuances as to artistic, utility and monetary values.
I will be combing this and other sites for information and education. Fortunately I have met some of his friends and they have graciously offered to help. I do and will lean on them but don't want to abuse that kindness so will be asking questions here as well.
Randy certainly suffered from SRDS (straight razor derangement syndrome) as well as BHS(barber hone syndrome) and I think he may have passed it on to me!
Thanks

Thanked: 49Welcome Ralf!
Do not think it is a bother at all, ask as many times about as many things as you need until all has been answered.
You will certainly have your hands full for a while!!
We were all sad to hear of Randy's passing and are sorry for your loss.

Welcome Ralph. Indeed Randy was a gentleman and a scholar and is sorely missed here. My condolences as well for your loss. He educated many here so that we could pass that on as well. I think I can safely speak for all when I say it would be an honor to reciprocate that education. We hope to move on in the same spirit.
