    Default almost new here

Hi everyone. this is joed's wife. I have been lurking here for a while under his id. I have shaved a couple of times with str8's and I love the quality of the shave. I try to do this when I have plenty of time and tend to do it while I am in the tub. I do use the DE's when I feel like I don't have time to take my time. Seeing as I have the afternoon off while Joe is at work I may just draw up a nice bubble bath, and make some nice lather and have another go at it. Have to strop my torrey though. Good thing I do occasionally pay attention when Joe is taking care of his str8's LOL

Welcome. I never thought back when I joined that there would be any women on the forum. Now there are a growing number of ladies. I keep offering to shave my wife's legs, but no go so far.

Chris, I am still not so sure I want someone else working on my with a str8. There are still some trust issues with people coming at me with sharp objects. I guess it's a control thing. I know my limits. I am not always sure of others knowing theirs

Welcome welcome, glad to see you've officially joined.

One little tidbit that it sounds like you're already picking up on is that shaving with a straight is a relaxing and rewarding way to indulge oneself. Unfortunately, it's not something that I have time to do every day, but I wish I could. I have to set aside time to have a nice straight shave. If I miss a shave and find that I have to do something quicker to stay presentable, I pull out the DE for a single, WTG pass in the morning.

I do hope that you'll be able to set aside the time to pamper yourself and enjoy a nice straight shave.

    Greetings Carrie

Congratulations on graduating from a lurker to a member in your own right. I've been using a straight for four months now, still haven't got it perfect but at least the nicks are happily reducing in number! While Spike doesn't shave my legs for me he does take care of other areas.

Straight shaving as you have discovered, is a great way to pamper yourself because you just can't rush it. I hope you continue to enjoy the experience for many years to come. It can be a nightmare having two lots of shaving related AD's in the same house, but I'm sure you will both work something out together.

Silver, thanks for the kind works. I will leave it to Joe to have the RAD, I have 2 razors that I call my own. Both are Torrey 5/8 round point blades. nothing fancy but I like the balance. Some of the large blades just don't feel comfortable to me. So I don't expect to catch the RAD bug. I am learning how to hone and strop my own blades though. Joe informed me that I need to know how to care for my own blades just in case he isn't around.

    Welcome

    Torreys are great razors, too.

This is OT, but just curious: how many ladies members are there now?

    Cheers

I think there are about 12 of us, some lurk, others are active but we are all learning together.
