Well, I'm not really new here but...
Howdy ya’ll!
I’m not a new member, but I’ve realized that I never took the time to properly introduce myself.
My IRL name is Paul D. I’ve been SR shaving for ~2 years now and I don’t believe that I would be doing this without SRP. The wetshaving process and straight razor shaving in particular have changed my life. I know it sounds cliché, but I also know that many of you can relate.
I now enjoy the entire process, from honing to stropping, to lathering, and of course shaving. It seems like a part of my life that I never knew was missing.
There’s just something about taking the time to do things right. Being a well groomed man in today’s day and age is something that is too often overlooked.
Anyways, on to the reason for the thread.
I’m usually a lurker on many forums, and if I do post I keep my anonymity. But here, heck, we’re friends so I’m about due for introductions.
I spend my days running body piercing studios. I’m a partner in a company that owns and runs piercing, tattoo and tanning studios. Out 8th location is opening next week.
I have an amazing boxer pup that I spend 20+ hours a day with. She’s my buddy.
I’m not married, but I am dating an amazing woman who happens to be the step-daughter of a member here. We both love to travel and have been to Thailand, Canada and Costa Rica in the past year. That’s another story for another day though…
When I’m not working or restoring razors I’m usually working out at the gym, running (I’m doing my 2nd ½ marathon in june), boxing or practicing Muay Thai (6+years).
I have a complete restoration setup in my 1 br apartment, have a display case with ~70 razors, and I have never sold a single razor (yet?). I'm currently in the market for a house and one of the things I'm looking for is a garage so that I can finally have a decent workshop.
I played in a touring punk band for ~10 years, and spent ~2.5 years total on the road.
Oh yea, I’m also a gun lover and I love shooting black powder pistols.
So, thanks SRP for being such a great community and for continually welcoming new members with open arms! (and newbs, don’t wait 2 years to introduce yourself ).
P.S. Sorry if this is too wordy or inappropriate for this new forum. It took a to actually write this out.

How cool. I plan on running a 1/2 next year too. I'm scoping out two now.
I might be careful with the whole dating a guy's daughter who uses a straight razor thing though . . .
