Post Greetings from the Mountain State

    Good Evening,
While I don't shave with a straight razor, I am a collector and love to learn all I can about them. I started collecting a few years ago after several years of collecting old shaving mugs. I bought my first razor, a Boker from a gentleman at a gun show and I've been hooked since then. My razors are currently "living" in a 3 shelf glass curio cabinet, each sitting on an acrylic knife stand. I just went on a binge shopping spree and purchased several "new" razors, so now I need to find additional space. I found this site while looking for ideas for display cases. I'm hoping to learn more about some of the razors I have, identify some that to date I haven't been able to, and maybe find a few new ones! So show me the way..........

Nessmuck I am thinking it will be Colorado, but hopefully MtnLady comes back to explain further, I am wondering myself.

MtnLady, Why stop there, you could start using one and learn first hand which ones to like. Welcome.

Welcome to SRP MtnLady. You might say that many of use are collectors too although we use them. We also have some female members who use them as well. As for collecting, if you take a look at the 'Razor Clubs' forum you'll see some of what our members look for here.

Also the Straight Razor Database here in the SRP Wiki. There are few books available on the topic. My favorite is Collecting Straight Razors by Robert Doyle. It is out of print but I see copies turn up on ebay or look in internet used book sources.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Are there mountains in the eastern U.S?

I'm kidding, I traveled through there last year, beautiful country, in fact I may be a little jealous.
