Hello Everyone
New to SRP but not wetshaving. I've got about 30 straight shaves under my belt and my goal is to master this fine art by year's end.
I am a member at Badger & Blade (Mr. Scruffy) which is where I became interested in straights. I know that some of the members I have met there are also members here so I decided it was time to come on over to see what the fun was about.
I look foward to meeting and talking to eveyone here at SRP.

Hello Everyone
Hello, Saladin:
Welcome to Straight Razor Place. Since you are familiar with these sites and where to dig up plenty of information, I will not go into that part.
You already have started with 30 shaves to your credit. If I may suggest something:
If I were you, I would not push the straight razor. In other words, I would not set a deadline for myself to master the blade. Hone your skill with the blade at the speed which comes naturally to you. Take your time.
What's more, the art and craft of straight razor shaving is a continuous journey. It evolves. It opens avenues for adjustments and improvisation. Enjoy your pilgrimage one shave at a time.
Good luck.
Regards,
Obie

Thanks Obie. I appreciate your advice.
My 30 shaves have been over a three month period. I use a 1940's Gillette Aristocrat to shave on weekdays and my straights on weekends when I have the opportunity to spend an hour shaving.
I do know it's a journey. I also know that the journey can be more fun than the destination. Thanks again for starting me off in the right direction.

Welcome to SRP.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
