Thanked: 12hello fellow noob
I bought the same strop a few weeks ago. Only used it a couple of times and nicked the top already. It seems to do the job for me alright.
Never saw the speculums advertised though haha

Crouchy,
Mr Neil Miller (www.strop-shop.co.uk) makes superb hanging & paddle strops.
He is in Essex too.
Best of luck
Best regards

Thanked: 0Yes. 'Vinyl-like' does convey what the strop feels like. Think I will park this one until I can somehow handle a good strop to know how it should feel.
Will have to 'copper-up' my pocket money....

For me, the difference in quality was very oblivious comparing to even to entry-level dovo (which is a good strop, IMO). I hope that you can deem that it is ok to use, but I agree that you should hold off stropping on that until you are able to fondle known good strop.
Fortunately there are some inexpensive choices available. In short term, I've also heard people stropping on clean jeans, newspaper or something similar.
