    Smile New Member says HI!

    Hi Guys.

I've been lurking about for a couple of months; I'm glad to step forward and say hi.... "HI". I figure it's about time.... Lynn Abrams and Bill Ellis have become house-hold names lately.... I've got the bug bad......

I've been zeroing in on this for twenty years, found "wet-shaving" (cream and brush) 20 years ago but despaired of ever finding an alternative to the horrid cartridge..... One day this winter I casually entered "shaving+how to" into the google window and .... low and behold... there was an entire world of guys like me... Glad to meet ya!

I am the proud owner of 4 Str8's: two of which I'm still waiting to shave with. One is a beautiful carbon fiber 1897 elskituna (sp?) restored by member Toxik and currently off to be honed by member Sebell. I am awaiting an older W&B currently stalled out in Canada customs.

My daily shaver is a Kai with crazy sharp blades, something like a feather. The other is my "practice junker" I picked up locally and have brought to almost, but not quite, shave ready. This one will eventually become my first attempt at restoration

My shaves have become better and better, thanks in part to all the great tips regarding prep and approach.

I owe a debt of gratitude to the incredible amount of information and insight posted by the members of this forum. It's become my "go-to" for pertinent info about straight razor shaving. Keep up the good work Gents! And Thank You!
    -Chris

    Hello, Chris:

Here our shaving techniques may differ, stropping methods, too, as well as lathering, and post shave.

Yet no matter what our differences, the most important thing we have in common is our love for the straight razor.

You're more than welcome for joining us.

    Regards,

    Obie
