Default First time from west michigan

Just had my first shave with a straight razor and it wasn't all that bad. I bought a used a tuckmar amin and a cheap bowl and a boar brush. I was worried about cutting myself the first time through put my cheeks are intact and I didn't dare move to my neck after reading all of the advice on srp. The razor-burn is a little intense the first time through but I'm sure it was partially due to the fact that I used regular shaving cream my first time because my shaving soap hasn't arrived in the mail yet and I'm hoping the razor will glide a little better over my skin with it. All in all I'm anxious to just grow my stubble faster so I can keep practicing.

    welcome to srp,

you need to use lighter touch for less burn. as alan would say
'little stubble is better than little irritation'
