Thanked: 7hello
My name is adam, i am twenty nine years old and my interest into straight razor shaving has been restored tonight. after seeing someone shave there head with a straight blade, i know it can be done. maybe i wasn't looking hard enough, but all have heard (till know was, no way). As my work season is starting again,(landscaper) i will be able to pick up the the supplies i need, send my two razors away #1- 1930;s boker finest grade with mother of pearl on the monkeys tail( didn't think it was called a handle) #2- Gust & Wilh. Stock Solinger 2, to a honemeister for some tlc. i find shaving calms my mind, i enjoy it. if i compare shaving with a straight blade, and a cartridge, it would be, straight razor= custom residential work, cartridge= 200 unit town house complex, with 4 different yards in the entire place(cookie cutter work). if i babbled i am sorry, it is just nice to have an interest become possible. adam

Thanked: 1371Hi Adam, welcome to SRP!
Head shaving can be done, but plan on taking it slow and progressing into it. I've been at it since December, and am just now at a point where I can confidently shave my head every time, without needing a safety razor to touch up the problem areas.
Also, if you haven't already, take some time reading stuff here: Straight Razor Place Wiki
Start out with the beginner's guide, and read as much as you can before you start shaving. It will save you lots of trouble later on.
Again, welcome!
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Welcome to SRP. I wouldn't dare sword fight with Zorro or shave my head but I enjoy shaving my face with a straight razor and I bet you will too.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Hello
Hello, Adam:
Welcome to Straight Razor Place, the domain of the gentlemen shavers. I don't shave my head, since there's nothing up there to shave, but I do treat my Hollywood face with the pleasures of the straight razor. We're delighted to have you with us.
Regards,
Obie
