Thanked: 2Very interested newbe
Greetings new friends:
I am seriously looking into the art and hobby of straight razor use. I'm currently enjoying wet shaving with a several double edge razors and see the natural course of things is leading me to straight razor shaving. I'll lurk for a while and learn the lingo and lay of the land then start looking for the needed equipment to begin with. knowing me the way I do I'm sure this is going to turn into a enjoyable activity. I will no doubt want to experience every aspect of the technique to include honing eventually. So I'm happy to be here and ready for the ride.
On the personal side, I live in Warren Michigan (A suburb of Detroit) I'm 58Yrs. old and a person who likes getting what into whatever interests me.

Hello and welcome!
I see your point about a natural progression from DE to straight. It's a much smaller leap than some people. You've definitely found the best forum for your search and as previously mentioned take full advantage of both SRP's Wiki and the forum Search function.
Everyone here is very helpful and can definitely help you along with many different viewpoints.

Hello, gsurko:
Welcome to SRP. I must say I am impressed with your attitude and approach to straight razor shaving.
You seem to be a gentleman who likes to put one step before the other confident that he is prepared. That is a great trait to have when embarking on the pleasures of straight razor shaving.
Yes, by all mean, do your extensive research. Read and listening. When you feel ready to pick up that straight razor, we're here to help. That you already are a wet shaver and use a double edge is enormous help. Also, being as methodical and patient as you seem to be, I dare say you are a natural at straight razor shaving.
So, yes, we are delighted to have you join us. If your research leaves a blind spot here and there, please post your question and you'll have your answer in no time at all. SRP is packed with experts — real experts, too. It boggles the mind how much some of these ladies and gentlemen know about the world of straight razor shaving.
Regards,
Obie
