    Default From Texas!!

Hello to everyone on SRP, My name is Angel and I'm from Fort Worth and new to straight razor shaving. I've been thinking about switching to SRS for the last four months and after reading through the forums here and looking at other members advice, bought a Dovo straight yesterday and am currently waiting for it along with a strop and other materials purchased elsewhere.

So far it looks like a lot of people on this site know there stuff and if it wasn't for this site I would not of made a switch and am now looking forward towards the arrival of my new razor.

    Lambda,

    Welcome to SRP...

Glad to hear that you made the switch. Thre is a bit of a learning curve, but if you read the SRP wiki and feep visiting the SRP forums, you will be able to become proficient in the use of a str8 razor for shaving in no time.

Did you purchase Lynn's dvd, "World of Straight Razor Shaving" when you purchased your razor, strop, etc.? Consider doing so. It helped me a great deal initially and it contains a lot of useful information about str8 razors, honing stropping, shaving, etc.

Again, welcome aboard. Take care--and smooth shaving.

Unfortunately I didn't, I ordered my Razor from SRD so since I saw so many members trusted the honing skills of Lynn and they had some great prices, however I'm thinking I maybe should purchase it now.

    I really appreciate the welcome.
