Default We'll see if I can do this

Hello to all I am new to this and currently have nothing. I am a researcher and have spent some time on this forum, already reading the beginners articles. I am the type who will make most of what I use, but am willing to start with a pre-made blade. I really have no clue what this will cost me, nor which blade would work well.

    Welcome to SRP,

You should find answers to most of your questions in the Frequently Asked Questions - Straight Razor Place Wiki and our beginners guide. Shopping list for beginners - Straight Razor Place Wiki should get you going as far as kit is concerned, and we do have a nice DIY section in the Wiki, too.

    Good luck,
    Robin

    deighaingeal,

    Welcome to SRP...

As BeBerlin noted, you will find a wealth of information about razors from A to Z in the SRP wiki.

You should also explore the following link. It should help you make a smooth transition into the world of str8 razor shaving.

    Default thanks

I've read through all of that info. I was curious what would be a good price range for my first blade?

Depending on how much you're willing to spend, a razor in the USD 10-1,000 price range will do nicely.
