    Default Hello from a newbie

Just wanted to say jello.. I have been lurking for the past 3 weeks and have read most of the wiki. Waiting to get my straights in the mail and going to make my strops.

    Welcome!

I made my own strops too - I'm assuming you've checked out threads with DIY strops already. It's nice using stuff you've made yourself.

    Enjoy the journey!

    All the best,
    Michael.

Thanks all.. being the impatient bugger I am.. I ended up looking around town for something to just get my feet wet with. The only thing I found was a Fromm Hair Shaper which I guess would be similar to a shavette. For 5 bucks figured there was nothing really to lose. Shave was nice and my face was not as irritated as a traditional disposable or the electric that I had been using.

really can't wait for a true str8 now.

Welcome! Give a traditional some learning curve. Learning to strop/hone etc, to replicate a modern blade takes a little extra patience.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
