Thread: Hi from Canada

Hi everyone,

I've been interested in proper wet shaving for a couple of years, and reading extensively about it for a few months. I've finally decided to take the plunge: I hope you'll check out my "Working man's shave" thread in the Beginner forum.

Welcome from Vancouver Island. I did read your other post - looks like you're on the right path. You won't go back to the cartridges once you learn how to use a straight - no need to, thing of the past. I heard the Timor razors are decent but maybe not the razor for life. You'll likely end up with more than one razor (or many more) and once you learn to hone and strop you'll be able to pick up some lovely vintage razors for very cheap. I've found some incredible deals - including a mint Tuckmar for $1!
