    Default Another Virginia Newbie

Hello! I've been wetshaving for about 5 years and recently made the switch to a DE, which I've thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, as I've been doing the DE shaving, I started reading a lot on another board, and got the itch to try a straight.

To make a long story short, this morning I purchased my first straight from a member on the other site--a Dubl Duck #1 Special, and when it arrives, I'm excited to try my hand at the new razor. In the meantime, I'm here to learn all I can!

Thanks for the suggestions. It ends up the razor I purchased on another board is actually from a member here, Mainaman, at his suggestion I have read the wiki.

I also purchased a filly strop to learn with because I came too late to the party to get a Tony Miller offering right away. If I like the straights, I'll invest in a better strop once I have my technique together...

Now it's just a waiting game for my Dubl Duck and my Filly to arrive so that I can start trying the str8 razor life...
