How do,
i`m from yorkshire. Welcome along great to have another britt here.
Don`t worry about asking dumb questions, when you don`t know what your looking for the wikki can be a little confusing and can bombard you with information and be a little confusing.
The best bit of advice i can give you is, Have fun with shaving, There is no right or wrong way to do it, no two people have the same face and so what works for me won`t work for you. Play around with the direction of the strokes the hand you use, and the way you strech you skin.
but most of all enjoy it!
PPs
+1 on the strop shop and invisible edge.
I havent tried the bismark, but i have had one of the dovo best qualitys and it was a great razor.
My hoard has now grown some what and i have a lovely vintage one that is now my first choice razor but the dovo still comes out regularly.

Thanked: 195Welcome to the forum. I have only been here a couple of weeks myself and it is not only a tremendous source of information, everyone is very helpful and friendly as well. My first razor was a Dovo best 4/8. I have since obtained a Boker King Cutter which I like very much, but I think it is easier using the smaller 4/8 until you get the hang of things. It is smaller and easier to handle when learning. Just my opinion.
Welcome and enjoy your stay.
Regards,
Mark

Thanked: 1Hi Mark,
Thank you for the welcome. Yes, this site sure does seem to have a lot of very nice people and lots of great info. I am looking forward to telling my trials and tribulations of 'Life with a cut throat'
One thing I have learnt very quickly is that plenty of people here offer encouragement and sound advice.
Phil.
