Evening.
Hello everyone, I'm David from CA, thanks for running such an amazing forum. I have learned so much and yet this is only my first post.
After so much reading and waiting i am finally ready to take the leap: tomorrow morning will be my first straight razor shave ever, wish me luck.

Hi David and welcome to SRP. Read my sig below and follow the old barber's advice and it may help you out on your first shave.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Welcome David,
Just take your time and relax using very light pressure.
Be sure to let us know how it went.

Thanked: 33Hi Nubskillz,
Go easy on yourself and shave your cheeks only!-the temptation is to complete the whole face, but you need to build your skills gradually.
Good luck with the shave.
regards

Thanked: 1Hello everyone, I'm an older gent getting back into straights after the US Army took mine away because it was too dangerous. Seemed a bit hypocritical to me since I was being trained to go to the jungles of South East Asia. I stuck with a DE for quite a while. Now I have a collection of straights. Some really great and some are, OUCH, why'd I buy this thing. Thanks to the help of this forum I'm offing my crap and keeping the best. Thank you Zomax, for offering your friendship and thank you Maxillian for the BEAUTIFUL Paua shell scaled Dubl Duck that I'm waiting to arrive from Vintage Blades.
This site is loaded with great information and fantastic forums. Just be sure to read all the information before you make a mistake.
