Thanked: 0Hello from another newbee
Just started about 2 weeks ago. Moving along, making mistakes, making some progress, and liking it.
Thanks for providing the forums, the info is great, and knowing there is a contemporary resource helps me along.

Thanked: 0Part 2
Just did my first shave that didn't leave the 5 o'clock shadow. Must be getting better at this.
Still so far, managed to get the newbie nicks, some on my face, and some on my strop. Razor must still be ok.

Thanked: 0Hello there, I'm new to this whole thing. I'm looking at different razors and wanting to buy one but I'm not sure what name is best for not too much money. I found a Crescent made in Germany being sold by a gentleman in the classifieds section of this site. Is this a good quality razor? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanked: 58At that price, most German vintage blades that come shave-ready will be a good purchase. Even if you have to send it to SRD to have a pro do it, you're still left w/ more money in your pocket than if you'd bought an entry-level Dovo. That particular blade looks fine from the pics. If you were going to buy it off ebay you might pay up to 40 for it.....then you'd have to sand it down, clean it up, purchase a hone, learn to hone, get confused b/c you didn't have anything to compare it to...ie. another razor already professionally honed.
