Welcome aboard, You are starting the same way I did, An old razor that needs work. Look for Undreams videos in the wiki under restorations to. They are very well done and helpful. Any ideas yet on what material you will use for the Scales.
Also pictures are great we love lots of pictures of razors.

Haven't used a boker yet personally but they are on my want to get list. So congrats on that. I'm not sure of your experience with metal work so as far as the La Lejitima I would look it up in the SRP razor database and see what you can find out about them if it's not particularly valuable then you aren't risking much practicing restoring it, If it is then you can decide wether you think you can handle it or send it to one of the experienced members here that do restorations.
I made a set of curly black walnut scales for my first restore. It was allot of fun. I did quite a bit of work on the razor to I wasn't worried about the razor because it was pretty rough and not particularly valuable. The pin and washers are brass from a hobby shop.
Here is a pic of the finished razor.

Thanks for the encouragement. your scales look great. The blade itself cleaned op real well using fine sandpaper and mothers mag and aluminum polish. I made some scales out of some kind of mahogany i think, from a cigar box. I,ll Pin them tomorrow then see if my son can help me post a picture. Im a machinist by trade so I know somthing about metal work. I also made a pocket Knife once from scratch so this should not be to hard.

Well I got it the blade polished up andthe scales on. I learned a whole bunch, mostaly what not to do. But its much nicer than it was when I got it. Now I Just have to learn how to sharpen it then how to shave with it. Ha Ha. I,ll see if I can get my son to take a picture and post it this week end.
