Thanked: 0Greetings
Just saying hello to SRP members!
I'm new, came across these forums by accident and I have to admit, they are quite useful and at times entertaining. Getting a bit carried away but I do have a question. I've had a couple of very bad experiences with eBay in the past... Curious as to how safe is purchasing off this website? I was browsing through Classifieds and saw a few ads that caught my attention.

Welcome!
My advice would be to avoid eBay until you know what you are looking for in a razor, such as common flaws in old razors and good makes to go for. Most eBay razors arent shave ready when you get them either, and can sometimes need other work doing as well. So even though you think you've got a good deal on the razor, you then have to send it out to be honed and cleaned up!
The classifieds here is a much safer bet, and the razor will most likely come shave ready, which they usually dont from eBay!
You'll also need a strop, brush and some soap or cream. Have a look in the Vendors Corner forum here on the site for a list of reputable vendors.
Have a look at the Wiki articles linked in my sig line below as well, as they will really help you and answer a lot of the questions you might have.
Other than that, make yourself at home!
Good luck and keep us posted!

Greetings
Hello, JFK:
Welcome to Straight Razor Place. Stubear has waxed poetry already about the topic of straight razor shaving and I concur with everything he says. If you have questions, as Glen says, please ask away. We're delighted to have you here.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 31JFK welcome to SRP and the fun of straight razors...
I agree with all that has been said. You can try ebay after you have learnd a bit more about what to look for. The classfieds are fantastic for a decent razor shave ready.

OK, you have been banned twice already. Making more shill accounts is not going to make you more welcome here.
Please don't come back, this site is not for you. Find something that is more fitting for your abuses.
